As we get older, our body becomes weak and it becomes difficult to maintain our body balance. We have been listening to a lot of cases about elderly slip and fall accidents in the bathroom. If falls do happen, most do not result in any injury except some minor bruises or scraped knee. But falling in the bathroom is entirely a different thing. The injuries can range from minor cuts, scrapes, and bruises to more severe injuries such as broken bones, head contusions, and even spinal cord injury. Even after that there have not been much modification done to the bathroom to make them elderly-friendly.

According to our observation, most falls occur while getting in and out of the shower due to slippery floor surfaces, especially when wet. Elderly persons who are experiencing balance or mobility issues also fall when they use unstable objects to support themselves when in the bathroom. Sometimes, they use the bathroom door handle for supporting themselves, but this is extremely unsafe because bathroom door handles were not designed to support a person's weight.

Thus, we felt the need to innovate for our beloved ones so that they can enjoy their bath without any risks. With this project, we aim to make a bathroom elderly-friendly and safe.
